I have always been a competitor.
From the time I was little girl to the present day, I
have relished in the opportunity to compete. Whether it
was in the classroom at school, at my job, or in an athletic
event, I wanted to, and still want to be the best. This
may not always be the best trait to have, but it’s
who I am.
When I was 5 years old I began swimming on a swim team.
Throughout my childhood, I played competitive sports.
I competed all through Elementary School, Jr. High and
High School. When I got to college, I didn’t have
the same kind of competition available to me. I began
to feel my way around the gym and the weight room, but
this was all new to me. All I had ever done was play sports.
I stayed in pretty decent shape through most of my college
years, but was always missing the thrill of the start
of a race, or the triumph in winning a game or a meet.
When I graduated, I knew I needed to find something to
fulfill my desire for competition.
